How sure we are
Worked out from research and real briefs. No site has been built from it yet, so treat it as reasoning to check, not a tested template.
What it answers
Its job Give one premises its hours, address, services and contact.
Use it when
- Several premises, each with its own hours, holiday closings or services, which people come to the site to confirm.
Not when
- One premises: hours and address go on home and contact.
- Towns covered by a mobile business. That is a service-area list, not a location page.
What the research says
- NN/g (2019): people use map apps first and still come to the site to confirm hours, holiday closings and location-specific services. Contact guidance adds a map-linked address, phone and hours.
- A fuller NN/g report (2018) exists but is paid, and we haven’t read it.
Common mistakes
- A store locator map with no list alternative.
- An address that isn’t text, or isn’t linked to open in a map app.
