specimen pending Monospace system Adopting this means every character occupies the same horizontal advance, and that cell — not the optical word shape — becomes the measuring unit for the page. Columns align without tabs, numbers and labels form true tables by default, and indentation carries structure. It applies to the whole system rather than to code samples: headings, navigation and body all set in mono, which flattens the usual size hierarchy and forces differentiation onto case, spacing, rule and colour instead. Expect a wider measure for the same character count, weaker word-shape recognition and slower continuous reading; the compensation is exactness.
